Contemplation: With every new day comes new possibilities. New challenge and new choice. Everything that happened every yesterday will be what it was. However it is up to you if it is carried into this day.
Reflection: The Bible speaks on bread in several aspects. Bethlehem is the House of Bread. Ezekiel gave a recipe for bread. Moses prayed and the children of Israel received bread (manna). Jesus multiplied the fish and bread. Jesus is refer to as the bread from heaven and the bread of life.
So we see that bread is a sustainer of life. Even Jesus refers to His Body as bread. As He blessed and broke bread open so was His body. Spiritual bread not only opens your eyes but can keep them open. So Jesus tells us to change our prayer and ask for it daily.
As we honor the fast in this new day. Let us reflect, then pray specifically ….
“And when you pray, do not use meaningless repetition as the Gentiles do, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. So do not be like them [praying as they do]; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father, who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors [letting go of both the wrong and the resentment]. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]’” Matthew 6:7-13 AMP
Add communion to your fast to remind you of that daily need for spiritual bread 🙏🏾❤️
