The Most High has come in many forms to earth but one form in particular was a CLOUD. There are multiple references accounting to God's presence as a cloud. But lets look a bit deeper.
Cloud is defined as a visible mass of condensed water vapor floating in the atmosphere, typically high above the ground. With this definition we understand that a cloud represents water. As you know that water baptism is the representation of an overall newness.
But lets look even closer. The following scripture refers to the cloud as a baptism directly alongside the sea.
1 Corinth 10: 1-4 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
What is this cloud, some call it shekinah glory and others call it a protection of God. But there is more. In the wilderness the children of Israel were instructed to remain in place when the cloud would remain by day and to move when it was lifted at night "throughout their journey", Exodus 40: 34-38. In this reference the cloud provided spiritual guidance or spiritual sight.
Job 37:1514 - 16 Listen to this, O Job; Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God. Do you know when God [f]dispatches them, And causes the light of His cloud to shine? Do you know how the clouds are balanced, Those wondrous works of Him who is perfect in knowledge?
Consider the Most High in His amazing works. Moses received spiritual sight (knowledge) when the Most High descended in the cloud, Exodus 34:5. James, John and Peter were provided spiritual sight to see Christ in His true form on the mount of transfiguration Luke 9:35.
In this context, the cloud is a spiritual baptism into new sight or insight. A spiritual food and drink.
Pray with me ...
Heavenly Father I make my request known to you that I desire the same experience as you had given Israel. Let your will, your overshadowing be done unto me that I might SEE. Take me into the depth of your cloud and reveal to me the mysteries, the hidden things that I may know you more. Cure my spiritual blindness and let me know you in this. I pray your permissive will over my life. Wash me and prepare me to SEE my Father. I honor your presence and await your baptism.
